It’s that time of year again! Mid-September means new TV premieres and saying good-bye to reruns and so-so reality TV shows that are characteristic of summer lineups! There are some great series premieres and new seasons of your old favorites debuting this week.   We’ve put together your can’t-miss list.

The Bastard Executioner

This one’s going to be a doozy! On September 15th prepare to do battle alongside “The Bastard Executioner“. This new historical drama will tell the tale of Wilkin Brattle, a warrior in medieval Wales who has vowed to set down his sword after a Welsh rebellion against the English. But fate has different plans when he is forced, under mysterious circumstances, to take up the executioner’s sword. The title character is played by newcomer Lee Jones, with a supporting cast of recognizable faces including Stephen Moyer from HBO’s “True Blood” as the villainous Milus Corbett. It premieres on Tuesday at ten pm.

Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris

Can’t decide whether to watch sketch comedy, a talent show, or a game show? Why not all of them at once? NBC will be premiering “Best Time Ever” with Neil Patrick Harris on September 15th. The outrageous star of stage and screen, best known for his hilarious role as Barney on “How I Met Your Mother,” will be hosting a new variety show that will be filled to the brim with A-list celebrities, hidden camera pranks, and great performances! See interviews, trailers and behind-the-scenes sneak peeks online. Check it out at 10 pm on NBC.

Returning Shows Season Premieres

Along with the new shows, it’s time to welcome new seasons of your old favorites! Check in with Britain’s funniest pair on “Doll and Em” premiering Sunday the 13th at 10:30pm on HBO.

Waltz the night away and cheer for your favorite celebrities on a new season of “Dancing with the Stars” starting on Monday the 14th at 8 pm on ABC. Bindi Irwin, Nick Carter and Chaka Khan are just a few of the stars taking part this season.

Save Wednesdays at 10pm for all new season with the foul-mouthed foursome of “South Park”.

Finally on Saturday the 19th be ready to zip around time and space with everyone’s favorite Time Lord, “Doctor Who” on BBC America at 9 pm.

The joy of football season is another one of the highlights of fall! Sunday night football kicks off on NBC with its brand new time slot of 8pm. Get ready for Monday Night football on ESPN at 7pm. On the 17th, buckle up for Thursday night football on CBS at 7pm.
